Webster Five CEO Donald Doyle signs pledge to advance diversity and inclusion

CEO Action for Diversity & Inclusion

February 25, 2020 –

Webster Five has become the first Worcester County based bank to join the growing coalition pledging to advance diversity and inclusion in the workplace. One of more than 900 CEOs that have come together for CEO Action for Diversity & Inclusion™, Donald Doyle is committing himself and the bank to fostering an environment that embraces differences and acknowledges the challenges that can be caused by preconceptions and unconscious bias related to race, gender and disabilities.

By signing on to this commitment, Mr. Doyle and Webster Five pledge to take action to cultivate a workplace where diverse perspectives and experiences are welcomed and respected and where employees feel encouraged to discuss diversity and inclusion. The group of CEOs who have signed the pledge are charged with sharing best known actions, exchanging learning opportunities and engaging in collaborative conversations.

“Webster Five is deeply committed to serving our increasingly diverse community. As we adapt to meet the needs of our customers, we understand that we need to foster a work environment where constructive conversations about our differences are commonplace and are cultivated with a sense of mutual respect.” said Mr. Doyle, President/ CEO of Webster Five. “I am proud that Webster Five, backed by its Board of Directors, is dedicated to nurturing a work environment where employees can feel accepted and valued for their diverse backgrounds and are able to bring their true selves to work every day.”

Webster Five delivers annual diversity and inclusion training to their employees and has recently provided a cross-cultural communications session as part of an ongoing 2020 series to assist all employees in navigating these complex conversations both with other employees and the customers they serve. Webster Five also utilizes the input of an internal Diversity Committee. The committee works to create connections and ensure Webster Five is a trusted financial resource for the diverse communities they serve by leveraging the unique backgrounds and experiences of its employees.
