The Webster Five Foundation announced that as part of the Web of Caring to Make a Difference program, it will donate $2,500 to Jewish Family & Children’s Service. The organization is launching their Shoulder to Shoulder program in Worcester, in order to provide for military families throughout Central Massachusetts.

 Jewish Family & Children’s Service is an organization that provides services for anyone seeking care and guidance. Over the last 150 years, they have helped with challenging situations for many different people, including adults and children with disabilities or mental illness, new mothers and infants, seniors living with chronic conditions, veterans, and military families. Shoulder to Shoulder is one of the 40 programs offered by Jewish Family & Children’s Service. It is designed to strengthen the resiliency and improve the lives of post 9/11 military veterans and their families. The Shoulder to Shoulder program provides unique home-based support services and connections to community resources for Active Duty, National Guard, Reserve and veteran military families. Services provided are available at no cost to any military family.

Donald F. Doyle, President and Chief Executive Officer of Webster Five, stated “The Shoulder to Shoulder program has been a huge success in the Greater Boston area. Webster Five is happy to contribute to the expansion of this program, which will allow Jewish Family and Children’s Service to better reach more of the veteran community in central Massachusetts.”

CEO of Jewish Family & Children’s Service, Rimma Zelfand said, “Thank you to Webster Five for their generous donation. We are eager to extend this program in order to reach more families in need.”

Web of Caring to Make a Difference is a bank-wide community program created by Webster Five as a tangible means for the bank as an organization and its employees as individuals to make a positive impact by supporting local organizations that also are making a difference. Through the Webster Five Foundation, the program has donated more than $2 million dollars to various local nonprofit organizations for programs that support expanding and improving access to education, culture and the arts, social services, charitable activities and community development. Requests for funding through the Webster Five Foundation are reviewed by the board of directors and are awarded to established 501(c)(3) organizations in the above sectors that qualify.
