Job Summary Description:
Excellent career opportunity with potential for advancement. Collects delinquent installment loans and mortgage loans in accordance with the Bank’s collection policy and in compliance with state and federal Fair Debt Collections Practices.
- Collects overdue accounts
- Tracks bankruptcies
- Tracks insurance cancellations
- Manages foreclosures and repossessions
- Approves and processes insurance loss claim checks
- Performs other duties related to collections, as required
The successful candidate for this position will have an Associate’s Degree in banking, accounting or finance; Bachelor’s Degree plus additional course work in banking and lending preferred. At least three years of banking experience in consumer and mortgage lending, including collection experience, is required. Experience in collections related to indirect lending is strongly preferred. Knowledge of consumer and mortgage loan documentation, comprehensive knowledge of State and Federal regulations governing debt collection, basic knowledge of property appraisals and title rundowns are required. Must be able to travel to inspect and safeguard collateral. Computer proficiency, including strong Microsoft Word and Excel skills, is required. Familiarity with collections software programs and e-Oscar credit reporting system is preferable.
