Many banks serve their community. At Webster Five, we’re part of our community.
Since opening for business on August 10th, 1868, Webster Five has played an integral role in the development of our region. Supporting local neighborhoods and providing personal, one-on-one financial services to local residents through every life stage was our mission more than 135 years ago. It still is, today.
Here, old-fashioned service is our way of life. We treat customers with professionalism and respect—the way we’d want to be treated—and always greet customers with a smile. At the same time we also offer our community the latest and most advanced financial products and services. Webster Five, for example, was one of the first local banks to offer totally free checking and has led the way with online banking and enhanced technology, all to make your banking easier.
And, while many local banks have been bought out or merged with out-of-state mega banks, Webster Five has remained dedicated to high quality, face-to-face service at every branch location. It’s the best of both worlds: caring and friendly old-school service with cutting edge solutions and delivery systems. All from local professionals who can make decisions and who truly care about your satisfaction and well-being.
Our formula for success seems to be working.
Webster five has maintained steady growth and stable management throughout its history and, in 2005, received a five-star rating from Bauer Financial Reports—the highest rating a bank can receive among its peers.
While offering an array of diversified financial services to serve every financial need in our community—including personal banking, mortgages, business banking, cash management, and investment services (through Raymond James Financial Services)—Webster five is still committed to reinvesting profits back to the people we serve. That’s why, in 1995, we developed the Webster Five Foundation, a non-profit fund to serve worthwhile community related causes. It is funded entirely by the bank for the specific purpose of making charitable contributions for youth and senior services, health and social service, charitable activities and other programs that impact the needs of our communities. We also participate in the Massachusetts ‘Savings Makes Cents’ Program, an educational program designed to teach the principles of banking in the classroom.
The bank’s headquarters are located on Thompson Road in Webster, MA. Offices are located in Oxford, Dudley, Webster, Auburn, and three locations in Worcester. With expansion a part of our strategic goals, a new branch opened in Shrewsbury, MA on March 6, 2006. The bank also opened a state-of-the-art Operations Center in Auburn to consolidate support services in one location, and, ultimately to serve customers more efficiently.
Our 135-plus year past has been a model of success. And our future looks even more promising. Webster Five is truly unique among other banks. Here, high tech meets high touch. And people are as valuable an asset as anything in our vault.
We’re different. We’re better. Believe it.
